Update on Mom

Well we went in on Tuesday for the visit with the Oncologist. Not so good news. Mom had stage 3 breast cancer + the HER2 (the most aggressive). At this moment there could be microscopic cancer cells floating throughout her body and we would not know until they settled and started to grow and then it would be too late the doc said. So the decision has been made to do Chemotherapy. She will start on Wednesday the 24th. She will do 6 treatments every 3 weeks. Along with that she will be another treatment for that she will do every week for 18 weeks. Then when she is finished with all of that she will need to take a pill for 5 years. Her chances are great with doing the treatment. If the cancer has not comeback within ten years then most likely it wont. I pray this all will work for her and that she wont have too difficult time with all the treatments.

Breast Cancer

It's been some time since I have posted anything. We've had a lot going on these last two months. In February mom discovered she had a lump and went in for her yearly checkup. She asked the doc about it and of course the doc said it was not normal. So they had another mamogram done and also a ultra sound. The mamogram (that was on a Tuesday) did not even show the lump but the ultra sound did. On Friday she went in for the Biopsy and would find out the results on Monday. Late Monday afternoon we were all sitting in the living room waiting for the call. The call came. Not so good news. Yes it is Cancer. What a shock. Talk about your heart just sinking to the floor. None of us could believe it or wanted to believe it. Mom was very shooken up about it. But after a day she got back to her old self and was very posative. Tuesday I took her and Papa up to Missoula to see the surgen and discuss the options. They then scheduled her surgery for the following tuesday. Dr. J her surgen is a wonderful lady very nolagable and straight to the point. It was very refreshing. Mom made her decision to go ahead and have a masectomy she felt that was best and would void off any chance of it reacuring in the breast area. Tuesday came and we all went to the hospital. Papa did not take any of the this very good. They did a dye test to show where her main lymph node was and she ended up having two. They were amazed at how fast the dye flowed to the nodes. Usually it takes quite some time. This was a good thing. She came back and then we went and saw her before they were took her to the OR. Rex brought Nicky in with us. Mom lit up as soon as she saw him. Babies are good medicine. We all gave her loves and the started the waiting game. She went in at 2pm and she was done 4-4:30. When I saw the doctor comming I think I litterly held my breath. She was all smiles. Everything went well and the first test on the lymph node was negative. I have never felt such relief other than when my son was born and took his first breath. We waited to she her in her room (7pm) and said goodnight. She came home the following day still drugged but so positive. The following Wed. I took her in for her post op. When the doc. came in she nearly turned around and walked back out (joking) She couldn't believe how well mom looked. She did not look like she had just had major surgery. The visit went well. The next week she got her bandages off and now on the 17th we go for another visit and to see the oncolagist to see if they will recomend any treatment. Mom is doing so well it's simply amazing. She has so much energy and positvity. She attributes her success and well being to all those whom prayed for her and the blessings she recieved. It's been a mirical. We are so greatful to our Heavenly Father for granting her, her health.

Ladies do your breast exames, know your breast and know your history. The majority of Breast Cancer that is found is by the patient not the doctors or the mamograms.

I will up date you on what we find out this comming week. Till then Take Care.

Time... Where has it gone?

Time is sure flying by. I've been so busy I haven't had to really sit and write and upload pictures. Nicholas is now 7 1/2 Months. Everyday seems so amazing to me. Our children grow so fast. They are simply miracles. I am so blessed to have been given such a gift of joy. Here are a couple of pictures. The baseball one is his six month portrait. The next is in the leaves at the Mansion. I took him down to do pictures in the leaves in his pumpkin outfit for Halloween. I will post them later. Enjoy.
